Strategic Goal 2

Employability Skills

This strategy aims to increase the employability skills of young people through improved and increased school/industry/community partnerships.  The focus is on the most disengaged and/or disadvantaged young people.

Brimbank/Melton LLEN is working with schools, local government, industry bodies and community agencies to identify a comprehensive approach to developing the employability skills of young people in school or who have left school before completing Year 12.

In 2010-2011 the following activities were undertaken with Brimbank/Melton LLEN towards this strategic goal:

  • Literacy Intervention (Job Ready)
  • Beacon Foundation Programs – Click here for further information about Beacon Foundation and the BMLLEN
  • Employability skills awareness and promotion (DVD production)
